Our fantastic 3 days began on Friday morning when we headed up to Cincinnati to check into the hotel and get ready for a great night at Riverbend. Seeing Dave Matthews in concert has been on my wish list for a long time, and the fact that O.A.R. was the opening act was a major bonus (mad props here to my amazing husband for buying the tickets and suggesting this be our last getaway of this summer). I had never been to a concert at Riverbend, which is an awesome concert venue. We had seats on the lawn, which turned out to be the best seats ever. The people around us were having a great time (some more than others), and it made for a wonderful show, mainly because the people watching was especially phenomenal. Anyway, both bands put on an incredible show, and I can't wait to see them both again! For those of you who aren't familiar with O.A.R. or Dave Matthews, here are my favorite songs from each band. Well, I really can't pick just one favorite, but you get my point.
That was just Friday night. On Saturday, after a stellar breakfast at IHOP, we headed to the Cincinnati Museum Center to check out what we could there. We wound up spending the next 4 hours at the museum, looking at everything from a mini replica of early Cincy to gigantic replicas of dinosaurs. It was definitely something I would love to do again. Saturday night for dinner, we headed out to Terry's Turf Club, which was featured on the TV show Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. What a ridiculously awesome atmosphere! And the food...OH. MY. GOSH. It was quite possibly the best hamburger I've ever eaten. If you ever have a chance, I recommend heading on over there. Check out the clip of Terry's Turf Club on Triple D on YouTube.
Reliving this past weekend while writing about it makes me truly sad that summer is coming to an end, and soon my husband will dive right into another football season. While he's gone, that will give me a chance to plan our next trip. :)
